Detechtion Technologies Announces Latest Release of EnalysisTM

Detechtion Technologies, the world leader in compression optimization and fleet management, announces the release of EnalysisTM 3.15. This release includes functionality to enable our customers to better track equipment failures and causes, along with enhancements to improve navigation of our web-based software.

In the challenging current environment of low oil and gas prices, our customers and prospects are more focused than ever on assuring compression equipment runtime, availability and reliability. Tracking these equipment metrics requires capturing scheduled and unscheduled downtime. As the one-stop shop for compression management, EnalysisTM now automatically calculates equipment downtime, and enables operators to classify that downtime into scheduled and unscheduled categories along with capturing the associated downtime reasons. A complementary set of reports aids operators in tracking runtime, availability and reliability at the fleet, area, field and machine level, along with a corresponding summary of total downtime hours by reason across the fleet.

This version of Enalysis also introduces user favorites, which streamlines navigation to key activities and equipment within the software.

Gerry Conroy, SVP of Product and Portfolio for Detechtion, said “We are delighted to deliver this new release of EnalysisTM to the market. In the current challenging low commodity price environment, our customers are focused on measuring and maximizing the amount of oil and gas that gets sold to the market. Supporting further insight into equipment downtime is an obvious complement to our to our industry leading Asset Performance Management (APM) capabilities. These enhancements will dramatically improve our customer’s ability to track, measure, and ultimately improve the most critical measures of reliably getting production to the market. At the same time, our continued investment into software usability and minimizing the number of clicks is an investment in time-savings for our end users. Through challenging industry times Detechtion continues to strongly invest in our software solution to enable our customers to achieve best-in-class asset performance.”

DTE Gas chooses Detechtion’s Enalysis Software to Support Predictive Maintenance Initiative

By | Articles, Press Releases | No Comments

Detechtion Technologies announced today that DTE Gas has selected Detechtion’s Enalysis Software as a Service to improve utilization, reliability, and availability of their reciprocating compressors at their Belle River site. DTE Gas’s goal is to utilize the technology infrastructure investment they have already made to accomplish a move to a predictive maintenance culture.

“We have invested in a substantial amount of infrastructure products to solve the issues we were having with getting the most efficiency out of our compression fleet, but all we were getting was from this investment was data” said Mary Savalle, DTE Gas’s Senior Reliability Engineer. “Enalysis utilizes that data to give us actionable information that we could not get with the performance monitoring we were executing through our process historian.”

“Many companies in the natural gas compression industry believe they have solved the efficiency issues with their compression fleets by deploying some sort of performance monitoring system,” said Mike Hill, Detechtion’s SVP of Sales and Marketing. “Without predictive analytic applications to utilize the data, they are relying on setting thresholds on process data and simple correlations which do not produce the accuracy required to truly drive towards peak efficiency of their compression fleets.”

About DTE Gas

DTE Gas is engaged in the purchase, storage, transmission, distribution and sale of natural gas to approximately 1.2 million customers in Michigan. The company owns and operates 278 storage wells representing approximately 34 percent of the underground working capacity in Michigan. There is more gas storage capacity in Michigan than in any other state. Founded in 1849, DTE Gas is one of the nation’s largest natural gas utilities.

Detechtion Technologies Announces Latest Release of Enalysis™

By | Articles, Press Releases | No Comments

Detechtion Technologies, the world leader in compression optimization and fleet management, announces the release of Enalysis™ 3.13 software. The current release delivers functionality that improves system performance and scalability to receive, process, analyze and report electronic data in alignment with our core strategic objectives of improving fleet management capabilities. In addition, software performance has been improved, processing of Gas Analysis results has been upgraded, reporting capabilities are enhanced, and a set of Quad Z compliance tracking forms and reports have been released.

With the commoditization of reliable field sensors and the widespread availability of communication networks and data historians that comprise the emerging “industrial internet,” Detechtion is receiving increased volumes of electronic data, which has increased the overall workload on our processing capabilities. Recognizing that this trend will continue as the business grows, the timing was right to invest in scalability and performance of the system by offloading this data processing onto a separate processor.
Many of our customers have their service providers send Gas Analysis reports directly to Detechtion, and processing of these data intensive reports has also been off-loaded to a separate processor to further improve system performance.

For users of Enalysis™, multiple changes have been made to improve software performance and user experience. Changes include faster generation of PDF reports, improved speed and performance of the software, and improved formatting of reports exported to Excel.

Many operators struggle with managing regulatory compliance under Quad Z emissions regulations for compressors. A set of forms, reports, and alerts enables operators to track the key engine maintenance information needed to comply with these regulations, and to notify users of upcoming and overdue maintenance work.

Gerry Conroy, SVP of Product and Portfolio for Detechtion, commented “We are delighted to deliver the latest release of Enalysis, which continues to build on our industry-leading capabilities to optimize compressor performance and support best-in-class asset management for our customer’s fleets. Based on our on-going conversations with customers and prospects, we are excited to deliver improved scalability and performance to process, analyze and report larger volumes of electronic data. In addition, Quad Z compliance is a challenging problem for our customers, and the risk of missing a critical maintenance deadline can result in fines and adverse publicity. While many companies are talking about the potential of the “industrial internet” to deliver operational efficiency and best-in-class Asset Performance Management (APM), Detechtion is providing these capabilities to our customers today, delivering tens of millions of dollars in value annually through increased revenue, reduced costs, and best-in-class asset management.”

Enalysis v3.10 Release Notes

By | Articles, Press Releases | No Comments

The current release focuses on improving our Enalysis report email notification system. Enhancements were made to the email report scheduling interface to give users more options for fine-tuning what reports they receive.

What’s new?

Your user profile page has been refreshed to give you more control, including updating email notifications. To make changes to your user profile and email settings, simply click your name in the top-right corner of the Enalysis page:

clickuserprof

There are two tabs you can configure, Profile and Email:

tabsuser

Profile Tab
  • Contains your name, address and contact information
  • Allows configuration of your default home page and preferred communication method
  • Allows setting which non-Enalysis report notifications you may wish to receive
Email Tab

The email tab allows you to configure the Enalysis report notification emails that you get. There are three different classes of email triggers that need to be configured separately. First, we have the routinely scheduled Enalysis report emails:

schedule

The initial step is to choose your time zone from the list. Then, a selection between routine daily or weekly emails is made. For weekly emails, the day of the week must also be chosen. Finally, the time of day for the scheduled email must be selected.

The scheduled emails will be sent for all active compressors, regardless of if new data has been entered since the last scheduled email was sent. The scheduled emails will not include the PDF attachment of the report.

The scheduled emails were primarily designed to limit the number of emails sent out for SCADA units. Thus, rather than getting multiple emails a day, setting a once-daily schedule would mean that you get only a single report per day.

Next, Enalysis report emails can be sent when Cash Flow at Risk (CFR) or Priority Status thresholds are met:

cfr flags

cfr flags

If the box is checked, emails will be sent when the CFR is greater than the value selected or when the priority status of the report matches the setting. In the example above, you would receive report emails if the CFR was greater than $50K or if the priority status of the report was red.

The maximum frequency is also set to limit how often CFR or priority reports are sent. In the example above, a report would only be sent every 4 hours, regardless of how many reports are generated that meet the CFR or priority threshold.

The CFR and priority status emails are very similar to our previous options and are designed to send emails only by exception. Thus, you are able receive only higher risk or higher priority reports as opposed to all reports.

You can also choose to receive all reports that are manually entered into Enalysis:

manualreports

If the box is checked, you will receive any and all reports that are entered manually, regardless of any other schedule, CFR or priority settings.

The option to receive manually entered reports was designed for users who want to see all reports because the compressors they manage report infrequently.

Receiving manually entered reports may also be desirable if a manual report is entered to troubleshoot a unit that usually reports by SCADA.

Finally, the email tab lets you configure which compressors you receive email notifications for:

areafield

By default, you will receive email notifications for the same compressors that you have access to. However, the interface above allows you to trim down which compressors you receive emails for.

Notes

  • Your existing notification settings will be migrated to the new system. You are encouraged to make any changes or updates required via the new interface described above.

Added Visibility

1. In conjunction with the changes to the report email scheduling, it is now possible to see who will receive emails for each compressor. To do so, select a compressor and navigate to the “Reporting Compliance” unit setup page:

reportingcompliance

The Reporting Compliance page has two main functions:

  • Setting the expected frequency of reporting for the given compressor
  • Viewing which users are assigned access and receive notifications for the compressor

reportingcompliance2

The expected frequency is how often you expect fresh field data to be entered for the unit. If the goal is for a compressor to report every week, the expected frequency should be set to “1 week” as in the example above. If the unit does not have a report run within the expected frequency, the compressor icon on the map will appear in black.

The table of users displays all users who have access to view the compressor on Enalysis. Each user’s email schedule, CFR threshold, and priority warnings configuration is also shown.

2. The Emissions Report and the Driver Summary Report are now available with data for a single month or a custom date range. Previously, only yearly summaries were available for both reports. Showing the Driver Summary and Emissions reports with monthly data will facilitate environmental compliance reporting.
