Detechtion Technologies will speak at the Well Site Automation 2018

Detechtion Technologies to Support Canada’s Multi-Sector Air Pollutants Regulation in Enalysis™

Calgary, Alberta (September 21, 2018) – Detechtion Technologies, the global leading Industrial IoT and Mobility solution provider in the oil and gas industry, today announced that Enalysis™ supports the registration of pre-existing engines under Part 2 of Canada’s Multi-Sector Air Pollutants Regulations (MSAPR). Enalysis™ customers will be able to take advantage of these new features to comply with the January 1st 2019 deadline to register their pre-existing engines.

Enalysis™ offers the capability to efficiently store and retrieve the information required to register pre-existing engines by extending the range of information that is stored against an asset, allowing users to update and retrieve information for multiple assets at a time, and allowing for the tracking of other engine driven equipment such as generators, pumps and pump jacks within Enalysis™.

“MSAPR set air pollution emission standards across Canada for several industrial sectors. Detechtion Appoints Tammy Tapp-Gentry as CFO

She graduated with a Master’s Degree in Agribusiness from Texas A&M University and a BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Previously, Tammy was CFO for Rand Group, a professional services firm that delivers overall business process improvement and business management software solutions. Detechtion Announces the Availability of High-Frequency Data on Edge Device

HOUSTON, TX (February 23, 2018) – Detechtion Technologies, the global leading Industrial IoT and Mobility solution provider in the oil and gas industry, today announced major improvements to the data logging and analysis tools available in its industry leading Enbase™ Hub edge device.

When monitoring and controlling critical oilfield assets, such as gas compressors, the Enbase™ Hub has always supported the ability to log process data locally as well as backhaul aggregated data at regular intervals to the Enbase™ Dashboard in the cloud.

Unlike well connected environments such as refineries, chemical plants, and upstream processing facilities where data is captured in traditional DCS and SCADA systems in intervals of seconds or sub-seconds, assets in the oilfield are remote, geographically dispersed, and have narrower, less reliable bandwidth connectivity options, requiring a more efficient and sophisticated approach for data management and transmission. In many cases, oilfield asset data logged at regular intervals such as every 15 minutes or longer are sufficient for normal operations, but when things go wrong, every second matters.

“Failures in the oilfield require a density of data much closer to that captured by a DCS,” advises Eric Neason, Senior Vice President of Products & Services at Detechtion. “Users need higher resolution data just prior to these events to perform true root cause analyses.”

Simply logging data at a higher frequency generates a tremendous amount of data that may not be useful. The Enbase™ Hub now maintains a sliding window of high frequency, in-memory asset operating data based upon customer specified frequency and duration to address this challenge. Data at the end of the sliding window is discarded. Only in the event of a shutdown does the data get logged to local storage. The data remains in local storage for a customer-configurable amount of time and is available for extraction on demand over the air into the cloud.

“High frequency data logging has created the opportunity for our customers to have visibility to a much denser set of data for root cause analyses,” said Virgil Haney, Chief Technology Officer of Detechtion. “Users can view and analyze the data both locally, through the Enbase™ Hub Control Panel, and remotely through on-demand polling.”

Detechtion Extends the First IIoT Edge Device in Oil and Gas to Incorporate Optimization

HOUSTON, TX (November 17, 2017) – Detechtion Technologies, the global leading Industrial IoT and Mobility solution provider in the oil and gas industry, today announced that it has successfully integrated its Enalysis™ software, which provides predictive analytics for compressors, with its Enbase™ Hub creating the first IIoT edge device to incorporate optimization.

Designed specifically for oil and gas, the Enbase™ Hub defines the new paradigm for managing field assets in remote, hazardous environments. Designed to go beyond simple monitoring, the Enbase™ Hub empowers users to monitor, protect, control, and optimize critical assets.

The initial release will be targeted at natural gas compressors. The Enbase™ Hub now has the capability to use the predictive models from Enalysis™ to calculate metrics such as high rod loads and low rod reversals so they may be included in the parameters monitored and used in safety shutdown systems for compressors, preventing catastrophic, costly equipment failures. Moreover, the KPIs calculated in Enalysis™ can also be used to update setpoints as part of a compression control strategy to ensure that a compressor is operating at its peak efficiency. All the direct measurements as well as analytics are available for display locally via the Enbase™ Hub Control Panel. They are also communicated back to the Enbase™ Dashboard for use across the organization.

Designed specifically for oil and gas, the Enbase™ Hub defines the new paradigm for compression monitoring, protection, control, and optimization. The Enbase™ Hub mounts inside an existing compressor control panel and connects instantly to controllers, annunciators, pyrometers and sensors to provide all the information from these devices remotely through the Enbase™ Dashboard.

Detechtion Technologies Eliminates Over 600,000 Metric Tons of CO₂ Emissions Every Year

Detechtion Technologies, the world leader in compression optimization and fleet management, announced today that a recent study showed that it enables its customer base to eliminate over 600,000 metric tons of CO₂ emissions on an annual basis through ongoing compressor optimization. Using Enalysis™, Detechtion customers are able to look for inefficiencies in compression fleets that, when acted upon, lead to less power consumption to move the same amount of natural gas.

As more companies strive to reduce their carbon footprint due to tightening regulations from province, state and federal agencies, oil and gas production and midstream companies must find ways to deliver natural gas to the market in more efficient ways. Compressors that are configured sub-optimally waste power leading to unnecessary CO₂ emissions. Finding low cost, high impact opportunities for efficiency gains not only saves the environment from those extra greenhouse gas emissions, but the companies enjoy the added benefit of reducing expenses through reduced carbon levies, fuel gas and/or electricity usage.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the typical passenger vehicle emits about 4.7 metric tons of CO₂ per year. The reduction in CO₂ emissions enabled and acted upon by Enalysis™ users results in the equivalent of eliminating more than 130,000 passenger vehicles from North American roadways.
