In this case study, Detechtion Technologies improved work management and efficiency in the field by streamlining data entry and increasing visibility to dispatched work orders and activities completion status.
The client sought Detechtion’s help to streamline field data entry and increase visibility into dispatched work orders in the field, and their associated activities completion.
This Client is the U.S. arm of an international conglomerate’s onshore oil and gas business. Based in Houston, TX this Client recently began operations of vast new premium positions in Texas and Louisiana.
Their EAM systems process involved handing off written notes from one worker who completed the unit maintenance to the next worker who would log in to the EAM client from the truck or office to record work information directly in the system. This handoff process meant real-time information was not communicated, and details were often missed or incorrect.
Fieldlink’s mobility solution was used to give the Client a mobile frontend integrated with the EAM system. All work orders in the EAM system can be dispatched, tracked, managed, and documented using Fieldlink.
The technicians can now document work, manage and order parts/materials and add labor specific items. Work orders are also created from the mobile app and sent back to the EAM system for observations and issues the technician is seeing in the field. Fieldlink additionally allows for prioritization of work orders based on urgency and higher producing wells, allowing technicians to route their days accordingly.
The Client now has full visibility into work orders dispatched to the field in real time, allowing them to know when work is completed, parts need to be ordered or if work is still in process.
