In this case study, Detechtion Technologies assessed the failure risk of over 300 engines in the client's fleet to budget and set up for adequate parts inventory for its engines.
The Mission:
This client reached out to Detechtion to assess the total revenue at risk for a handful of specific engine makes and models (Wauk 7042, F18, H24 and Caterpillar G3516) to set up a more efficient and effective parts inventory program.
Background:
Legacy client using Enalysis for over 20 years with 900 reciprocating, rotary screw compressors and generators active in the software.
The Solution:
Enalysis data was used to determine:
- average reported flow rate for relevant units that had a sales meter, and
- average calculated flow rate for relevant units that did not have a unique sales meter.
Assuming a relevant gas price, the client was easily able to estimate the revenue at risk related to failures for these engines and planned accordingly to mitigate that risk.
The Impact:
By utilizing the Enalysis database, the client was able to assess the failure risk of over 300 engines in their fleet and plan accordingly to mitigate that risk by budgeting for and setting up an adequate parts inventory for these engines.
