Recap of our Know Pressure Webinar series: Episode 1

We recently kicked off our new webinar series, "Know Pressure: Your Guide to Compressor Fleet Management," and it was a fantastic start! This series aims to provide valuable insights for anyone involved with or interested in natural gas compression. Whether you're a producer, work for a leasing company, service or maintain equipment, or just have an interest in rotating equipment, this webinar series is designed for you.

Recap of Episode 1

In the first episode of the series, we defined Compressor Fleet Management as the comprehensive approach to monitoring, optimizing, and maintaining a diverse range of compressor assets within the oil and gas industry. It involves leveraging advanced technologies and data-driven strategies to ensure that all compressors, whether reciprocating or screw, operate at peak efficiency, reliability, and safety. We emphasized that Compressor Fleet Management is essential for achieving operational excellence and sustainability in the oil and gas sector. By ensuring compressors run optimally, companies can significantly enhance production efficiency, reduce operational costs, and minimize environmental impact.

We delved deeper into Monitoring to highlight that understanding the average runtime and the reasons behind shutdowns can help reduce downtime and improve overall efficiency. What we see at Detechtion is that most compression equipment experiences 8 shutdowns/month where each shutdown is typically 8 hours in length which can vary greatly based on application, geography and equipment makeup.

We spoke about Optimization and how small improvements in utilization can lead to substantial increases in production, demonstrating the importance of continuous improvement and effective fleet management strategies. We dove into a case study where to demonstrated the substantial benefits achieved from low cost configuration changes, and shared that on average, most equipment is operating at 81% total utilization
